Les Houches
Theoretical nuclear physics school
"Exotic Nuclei: New Challenges"
"Les Houches" (France)
May 7-18, 2007
A theoretical nuclear physics school is organised in "Les Houches" (France), May 7-18, 2007. The school title is "Exotic Nuclei: New Challenges".
The aim of this school is to provide lectures and seminars on the burning outcomes and new subjects in the field of exotic nuclei, both for nuclear structure purposes and their consequences in astrophysics.
The topics of the school are :
- From bare to effective interaction
- Mean-field based approaches and Beyond
- Ab initio and shell models
- Relativistic mean field and chiral perturbation theory
- Reaction models
- Neutron stars
- Nucleosynthesis
- Molecular states
- Physics from low to high energy exotic beams
Each topic will be typically composed of a lecture, completed by seminars. PhD students, postdocs, young researchers in nuclear theory as well as experimentalists willing to benefit from a comprehensive overview on modern theoretical nuclear structure are strongly encouraged to apply.
